Using the GUESS method to solve physics problems

Newton's Laws of Motion: Using the GUESS method to solve physics problems.
The Guess method takes the guesswork out of trying to solve complex physics problems. It is a great instructional strategy for students to use to solve physics problems. Students will use GUESS to solve problems by dissecting the problem into distinct pieces so that you can easily solve the problem.

Equation: Force = Mass * Acceleration

Can you solve these?

Second Law of Motion Problems

  1. How much force is exerted when a mass of 10 kilograms has an acceleration of 3.0 ms2?

  1. How much force is exerted when a mass of 40 kg is accelerated at 1.5 m/s2?

  1. What is the mass of a rock that has an acceleration of 2.3 m/s2 after a force of 2300 Newton’s has hit it?

  1. What is the mass of a cat that accelerates at 1.0 m/s2 after a force of 100 Newton’s has hit it?

  1. What is the acceleration of a dog with a mass of 15kg that has a force of 300 Newton’s?
